GCSE RESULTS DAY 2016
It’s GCSE Results Day! The day you have been waiting for this summer is here! It can be an anxious time but try to keep calm and read our how to guide below.
What to do after you’ve seen your results
Confirm your place
If you want to go to Post 16 and have the results that you need ensure that you attend your appointment at the time arranged for you.
If you want to go to Harrogate College or any other college and have the results you need, contact them by email or telephone to confirm that you want to study with them.
Seek out advice
If you haven’t quite got the grades you wanted, don’t panic! Contact Mrs Atherley who can contact the Careersinc Adviser to talk through your options and help you with what to do next. You can also telephone or visit Post 16 or college on Results Day as staff will be around to help. You will be able to talk to the right people to get advice about all the options out there – there will be a course or training programme that is right for you.
Consider all the options
Once you have talked through all the options available to you, the choice is yours.
GCSE English and maths
If you didn’t achieve a grade C or above in GCSE English and maths (or a grade B if you would like to study it at A-level), you will retake these subjects alongside any other qualifications you do. Post 16 and colleges will be able to support you through this. You will have to talk to Post 16 about A-level choices if you didn’t get the grades you wanted to study the A-levels you’ve chosen.
Don’t get disheartened. Whether you have received the grades you wanted or not there is something out there that is right for you and will help to get you on your chosen career path. Keep calm, look at all your options, do your research and get as much advice as you can. CareersInc advisers are here to help you so make sure you look for them in school and talk to them about what to do next
